Yes. The dashboard has scene modes for Starting Soon, Be Right Back and Stream Offline, which overlay a countdown or a short message on top of the visual, so the same background carries your waiting screens.

Does it need a powerful computer?

The 2D looks including Nebula are light and run comfortably at 1080p on ordinary hardware. The two raymarched 3D engines cost roughly ten times more and are capped at 720p for that reason. If frames drop, switch to a 2D look or lower the quality setting.

What is A Space Background That Is Never the Same Twice?

Space backgrounds are usually sold as short video loops, which is fine until somebody watches for an hour and starts recognising the cycle. Vortexia generates the starfield live, so it has no loop point at all, and it responds to your audio - the field pushes outward on the bass and drifts in the quiet.
