What is A Moving Background That Keeps Chat Readable?

Vortexia can sit underneath your Streamlabs chat box as a moving background, and a few settings keep the chat easy to read. The chat box is its own Browser Source; add Vortexia as a second one and keep it lower in the source list. Because text needs contrast, calm it down: lower Audio Sensitivity so it breathes rather than jumps, and if it is still busy behind the text, add OBS’s Color Correction filter to the Vortexia source and lower its Brightness or Saturation. It moves with your music and, once Streamlabs or Twitch is connected, reacts to donations, follows, subs, bits and raids. It does not react to individual chat messages. The free plan streams at 720p and 30fps with a small watermark.

How to use A Moving Background That Keeps Chat Readable

  1. Add it to OBS. Copy your OBS link from the Vortexia dashboard and add it as a Browser Source.
  2. Put it under the chat. Keep it below your chat box in the source list.
  3. Calm it down. Lower Audio Sensitivity so it breathes rather than jumps.
  4. Dim it if needed. Add a Color Correction filter to the Vortexia source and lower Brightness.

Frequently asked questions

Will the background make chat hard to read?
Not if you calm it: lower Audio Sensitivity, and dim the Vortexia source or lower its Saturation with OBS’s Color Correction filter so the text stands out.
Does it react to chat messages?
No. It reacts to your music and to channel events such as donations, follows, subs, bits and raids, not to each message in chat.
Does it work in Streamlabs Desktop?
Yes. Streamlabs Desktop uses Browser Sources the same way OBS does, so the same Vortexia link works there.
How do I connect Streamlabs?
Paste your Streamlabs Socket API Token into the Streamlabs field in the Vortexia dashboard’s Platforms tab. It is available on the free plan.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan streams at 720p and 30fps with a small watermark, three engines and Twitch. Plus removes the watermark, renders at 1080p and 60fps, unlocks all eight engines and adds automatic YouTube and Kick events.
