What is An Animated Twitch Overlay That Reacts to Your Stream?

Vortexia gives your Twitch scene an animated layer that moves with your music and reacts to follows, subs, bits, raids and hype trains. It is a web page you add to OBS or Streamlabs as a Browser Source, with no plugin to install. One thing to know before you plan the scene: it renders a solid frame, not a transparent one. Placed behind your webcam or a cropped game capture, that is exactly what you want. To lay it over gameplay instead, pick a look with dark space, such as Bass Tunnel, then right-click the source in OBS and set its Blending Mode to Screen: black disappears and the bright rings glow over your game. Most looks are a glowing field around a dark shape, so they work best as a background.

How to use An Animated Twitch Overlay That Reacts to Your Stream

  1. Add it as a Browser Source. Copy your OBS link from the Vortexia dashboard and add it as a Browser Source.
  2. Use it as a background. Drag it below your webcam and game capture in the source list for a moving background.
  3. Or blend it over your game. With a dark look such as Bass Tunnel, right-click the source, choose Blending Mode and set Screen.
  4. Connect Twitch. In the dashboard’s Platforms tab, connect Twitch so channel events drive the layer.

Frequently asked questions

Is the overlay transparent?
No. It draws a solid frame, so on its own it covers whatever is beneath it. Place it below your webcam and game in the source list. To float it over gameplay, choose a look with dark space such as Bass Tunnel, right-click the source and set Blending Mode to Screen, so the black drops away and the bright parts glow on top.
Does it react to alerts?
Yes. Connect Twitch in the dashboard and follows, subs, gifted subs, bits, raids and hype trains each trigger their own effect across the whole layer, rather than a card in one corner.
Will it work in Streamlabs Desktop?
Yes. Streamlabs Desktop uses Browser Sources the same way OBS does, so the same URL works in both.
Will it slow down my game?
The 2D looks cost about a millisecond per frame at 1080p, and the Balanced setting lowers the render resolution further if you game on the same machine. The two 3D looks are heavier and start at 720p for that reason.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan streams at 720p and 30fps with a small watermark, three engines and Twitch. Plus removes the watermark, renders at 1080p and 60fps, unlocks all eight engines and adds automatic YouTube and Kick events.
