What is Twitch Panels Are Images: Here Is What Fits?

Twitch panels are the image blocks under your stream on the About section, and they take a picture file, JPG, PNG or GIF, about 320 pixels wide. They cannot run a web page, so a live, audio-reactive visual such as Vortexia cannot sit inside a panel, and any page promising a live animated panel background is promising something Twitch does not allow. What Vortexia can do is move the stream itself: add it to OBS as a Browser Source for a background that reacts to your music and to follows, subs, bits and raids, or use its Starting Soon, Be Right Back and Stream Ending screens. For a panel, design a still image in your usual editor; if you want a Vortexia texture in it, take a screenshot of the dashboard preview and use that.

How to use Twitch Panels Are Images: Here Is What Fits

  1. Design the panel as an image. Make a 320-pixel-wide JPG or PNG in your usual editor.
  2. Borrow a Vortexia texture. Screenshot the dashboard preview and use it in the design.
  3. Put the live visual on stream. Copy your OBS link and add it as a Browser Source.
  4. Connect Twitch. Connect Twitch in the dashboard so channel events trigger effects.

Frequently asked questions

Can Vortexia animate my Twitch panels?
No. Panels are image files, JPG, PNG or GIF, and cannot run a live web page. Vortexia moves your stream instead.
What size are Twitch panels?
About 320 pixels wide, with the height up to you. Twitch accepts JPG, PNG and GIF files.
Can I use a Vortexia image in a panel?
Yes, as a still. Take a screenshot of the dashboard preview and use it in your panel design.
Where does Vortexia go on Twitch, then?
On the stream: an OBS Browser Source that reacts to your music and to follows, subs, bits and raids, plus Starting Soon, Be Right Back and Stream Ending screens.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan streams at 720p and 30fps with a small watermark, three engines and Twitch. Plus removes the watermark, renders at 1080p and 60fps, unlocks all eight engines and adds automatic YouTube and Kick events.
