What is Professional Motion Backgrounds for Podcasts?

Video podcasts are long and mostly talking, which is the hardest case for a background: it has to hold up for an hour without pulling focus from faces. A short loop fails the first half of that - the repeat becomes obvious on a long recording - and most reactive visuals fail the second, because they are tuned to jump on music. Vortexia is generated live so it never loops, and turned down it moves slowly enough to read as a set rather than as an effect. It is a Browser Source in OBS, free at 720p with a small watermark.

How to use Professional Motion Backgrounds for Podcasts

  1. Customize the visual. Open the Vortexia dashboard, choose the Professional Motion Backgrounds for Podcasts preset, and adjust colour shift, zoom and iteration depth until it matches your show.
  2. Copy the viewer URL. Click "Get Browser Source URL" — Vortexia will give you a permanent URL that loads this exact configuration anywhere.
  3. Add it to OBS, Streamlabs and any other broadcasting software. In OBS, Streamlabs and any other broadcasting software, add a new Browser Source, paste the viewer URL, and set the canvas to 1920×1080 (or 1080×1920 for vertical). The visual is live as soon as the source loads.
  4. Route your audio. Make sure the browser tab can hear the audio you want it to react to — most streamers route their stream output through a virtual audio cable so Vortexia and OBS hear the same mix.

Frequently asked questions

Will it be distracting behind two people talking?
Not at low sensitivity. Speech drives the mid band gently, so with sensitivity down the motion is slow drift rather than reaction - closer to a lit backdrop than to a visualiser. Pick a slow look and reduce the contrast, and it sits behind the conversation.
Can I record it rather than stream it?
Yes. It is a Browser Source, so OBS records it exactly as it records anything else. The dashboard can also export a 15, 30 or 60 second vertical clip if you want a background for a social cut of the episode.
Does it work with a green screen setup?
Yes, and this is the usual arrangement: chroma key the camera and put Vortexia underneath as the background layer. Because it is live, the backdrop is never identical between episodes without you doing anything.
What happens during silence?
It keeps moving. The motion is driven by elapsed time as well as audio, so a pause in conversation slows it rather than freezing it. Nothing stops or resets when the room goes quiet.
