How to use Animated Twitch Alert Visuals
Connect Twitch. In the Vortexia dashboard open the Platforms tab and connect Twitch. Vortexia registers the EventSub subscriptions for you — there is nothing to configure by hand.
Rehearse the reactions. Use the RAID, HYPE, BITS and FOLLOW buttons in the dashboard to see each treatment before you go live. Meeting an effect for the first time in front of an audience is not the moment to discover you dislike it.
Add it to OBS. Copy your viewer URL into an OBS Browser Source at 1920x1080 and place it beneath your webcam, game capture and alert box.

Which Twitch events does it react to?
Subscriptions, gift subs, cheers (bits), follows, raids, and hype train begin, progress and end. Each is mapped to its own visual treatment rather than a generic flash: a raid pulls the camera back and sends a bright band outward, a hype train holds a slow sustained swirl for as long as the train runs, bits sparkle, and a follow is a soft ripple.
How is this different from StreamElements or Streamlabs alerts?
Those show an alert card — an image, a name, a sound — in one corner of your layout. Vortexia changes the entire background instead. They are complementary rather than competing: most streamers keep their alert box and use Vortexia as the reactive backdrop underneath it. Vortexia also connects to Streamlabs directly if you already use it.
Why can other visualizers not do this?
Because they are audio tools. Butterchurn, Synesthesia, Resolume and Magic Music Visuals analyse an incoming waveform, which is a different input entirely. Reacting to a raid requires an authenticated connection to Twitch and a webhook listening for EventSub notifications. That is a streaming-platform integration, not a DSP feature, so it is not something an offline VJ application can add.
Do I have to be live for it to work?
For real events, yes — Twitch only sends them during a broadcast. But you do not have to wait to see the effects: the dashboard has manual trigger buttons for sub, donation, raid, hype train, bits and follow, plus keyboard shortcuts and trigger links, so you can rehearse each one or fire them deliberately during a stream.
Does a hype train really last the whole train?
Yes, and it is treated differently on purpose. A sub is a two-second event, so a fast colour flash reads as celebration. A hype train can run for minutes, and the same flash at that length would be genuinely unpleasant, so the hype train gets a slow sustained swirl and a steady saturation lift instead of strobing.
Is it free?
Twitch is available on the free tier, which renders at 720p with a small watermark. Plus at $4.99/month removes the watermark, unlocks 1080p at 60fps, adds YouTube, Kick and TikTok, and unlocks all eight engines including the 3D ones.
