What is A DJ Stream Background That Follows Your Set?
A DJ live stream background is the moving layer behind you and your decks, and Vortexia gives you one as a single Browser Source in OBS. Set Listening to Music / system and it hears your mix directly in Chrome or Edge on Windows, with a pulse landing on every kick. Put your camera source above it and the set plays out in front of a picture that moves with the track. The same link carries the rest of the stream: Starting Soon shows a countdown before you go on, Be Right Back covers a break, and Stream Ending closes the set, all in the same look and on every plan. Connect Twitch on the free plan and follows, subs, bits and raids hit the background mid-set; Kick and YouTube connections are part of Plus. The free plan streams at 720p and 30fps with a small watermark.
How to use A DJ Stream Background That Follows Your Set
Add it to OBS. Copy your OBS link from the Vortexia dashboard and add it as a Browser Source.
Put your camera on top. Add your camera source above Vortexia in the source list.
Let it hear the mix. Under Listening to, pick Music / system and share the screen or tab playing your set.
Open with a countdown. Pick Starting Soon, set the minutes, and switch to Only Visuals when the set begins.

Frequently asked questions
How do I put my camera in front of it?
Add Vortexia as a Browser Source, then add your camera and drag it above Vortexia in the OBS source list. The visual fills the frame behind you; crop or resize the camera as you like.
Will it follow my mix or the room?
Set Listening to Music / system and share the tab or screen with audio. In Chrome or Edge on Windows it then hears the music directly. Browsers on a Mac, and Firefox or Safari anywhere, cannot capture system audio, so there it listens through the microphone.
Can it show a countdown before the set starts?
Yes. Choose Starting Soon in the dashboard and set 1 to 30 minutes. The countdown starts when the scene appears and holds at zero, so switch to Only Visuals when you drop the first track.
Will it slow down my DJ software?
The 2D looks cost about a millisecond per frame at 1080p, and the Balanced setting lowers the render resolution further when the same machine runs your DJ software and OBS.
Which platforms react to my chat?
Twitch follows, subs, gifted subs, bits and raids work on the free plan. Kick, and Super Chats and new members on YouTube, are part of Plus.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan streams at 720p and 30fps with a small watermark, three engines and Twitch. Plus removes the watermark, renders at 1080p and 60fps, unlocks all eight engines and adds automatic YouTube and Kick events.
