What is A Waiting Room That Builds the Hype?

Vortexia turns the minutes before a Kick stream into a live waiting room. Choose the Starting Soon scene in the dashboard and your OBS source shows STARTING SOON and a countdown of 1 to 30 minutes over a visual that moves with whatever music you are playing while viewers arrive. The countdown starts when the scene appears and holds at zero, so switch to Only Visuals, or to your main scene, when you go live. The same link covers the rest of the stream: Be Right Back for a break and Stream Ending, which shows STREAM OFFLINE, for the end, each with an optional line of your own. The scenes work on every plan. The Bass Tunnel look shown here is a Plus engine; the free plan has three others.

How to use A Waiting Room That Builds the Hype

  1. Add it to OBS. Copy your OBS link from the Vortexia dashboard and add it as a Browser Source.
  2. Start the countdown. In the dashboard, pick Starting Soon and set the minutes.
  3. Play some music. The visual behind the countdown moves with it.
  4. Go live. Switch to Only Visuals or your main scene when the stream starts.

Frequently asked questions

How long can the countdown be?
From 1 to 30 minutes. It starts when the Starting Soon scene appears, holds at 00:00 when it runs out, and starts again if you re-enter the scene or change the length.
Can I add my own text?
Starting Soon shows its heading and the countdown. Be Right Back and Stream Ending each take an optional line of your own, such as “Grabbing a drink” or “Thanks for watching”.
Does the waiting room move with music?
Yes. Play your pre-stream music and the visual behind the countdown moves with it, with a pulse on every kick, so the room feels live before you are.
Do the scenes need Plus?
No. Starting Soon, Be Right Back and Stream Ending work on every plan. Plus adds the Bass Tunnel engine, 1080p and 60fps, no watermark, and the Kick connection for channel events.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan streams at 720p and 30fps with a small watermark, three engines and Twitch. Plus removes the watermark, renders at 1080p and 60fps, unlocks all eight engines and adds automatic YouTube and Kick events.
